Events Pick: Klezmer Jam
Who: David Krakauer and his Klezmer Madness! Ensemble.
What: Playing some badass improvisational-Eastern European-classical-avant-garde-klezmer-jazz. (Fusion is all the rage these days, or so we hear.)
Where: World Music Hall
When: Friday, Sept. 26, 7 p.m.
Why [you should go]: Because…
– Krakauer is a mad man with a clarinet (just check out the Youtube link in the Custom Events Calendar).
– Eclectic is hosting some hippie band this weekend, so if you need a little more edge in your weekend then reggae can provide, then come check out the squeakier, more uptight musical genre that inspired badass bands like Guignol, Beirut, Nanuchka, Man Man and Devotchka.
– You might meet a cute gypsy punk.
– Clarinets are sexy. Just look at band geeks… or Woody Allen. Or, um… Kenny G. That thing’s a clarinet, right?
How: Free!
