At last weekend’s New England open championship, Davis’s time of 17:35 on the five-kilometer course was good enough for sixth place overall and second place among Division III opponents. Davis, whose time this year on the Franklin Park course was a hair faster than her pace of 18:00 there last year, earned All-New England honors with her quick finish. It was also Davis’s second impressive performance of the young season as she began the year with a win in the 5k Wesleyan Invitational with a time of 19:24. Davis has picked up where she left off in 2005, a year in which she qualified for a trip to nationals. More runs like that of last Saturday and Davis should find herself in familiar territory, representing Wesleyan on the national stage.
