The end of NESCAC Swimming Championships on Sunday marked an end to the careers of five members of the Wesleyan Swim Team. During their time on the team our record improved from 2-11 the year before their freshman year to 12-4 this year, and moved from 9th to 4th at our conference meet over the same time period. Between the five of them they hold three team records, two all-NESCAC performances, four National “B” cuts, and a countless impact on the strength, development, and performance of all the younger members of the team.
Whenever the team needed someone to step up and have a big performance, we knew we could count on a senior to do what was needed. When any of us needed help, we knew we could go to them, whether it had to do with swimming, academics, or personal issues. We will miss them greatly next year.
The swim team would like to thank and congratulate the five seniors, Dan Devine, Will McCue, Rob Mitchell, Josh Tanz, and Alec Zebrowski. Without you, the team would not be where it is today. Thank you for your efforts, for your leadership, for every time you hosted a party, every practice you swam, for every race you won. Congratulations on a fantastic NESCACs, and four amazing years. We wish you the best in everything you do in life, and hope to see you cheering us on at meets in the future.
