The Cardinals came up big in Tuesday’s match up against NESCAC opponent Trinity, picking up their first league win in dramatic fashion, as Chris Meade ’05 took a feed from Jordan Funt ’06 and put the ball away only 30 seconds into the first OT to take an 8-7 victory. Meade’s goal was his team leading 21st goal of the season, and the captain couldn’t have delivered at a bigger time, as the Cards were fighting to lift themselves out of an 0-4 hole in league play.
Mike Hines ’07 connected for two goals and dished out two assists to lead the Cards offensively, with Chris Knacke ’05 and Mike Vitulano ’06 netting two apiece. The squad heads to Amherst for the first leg of the Little Three Saturday, Apr. 16. Wesleyan is the two-time defending Little Three champion and has won three outright crowns. The team has also been involved in two three-way ties over the last five season.
