Four Cardinals finished in the top six to earn all-New England honors at the New England College Conference Wrestling Association Championships this past weekend at Johnson & Wales. As a team, the Cards placed tenth out of fifteen competing squads.
Adam Jonas ’04 led the way, as he has all season, by finishing third in the 157-pound weight class. Camilo Rincon-Camacho ’05 and Don Torrenti ’08 finished fourth in the 149-pound and 125-pound weight classes, respectively. Dave Bartlett ’06 managed a sixth-place showing at the 174-pound level.
The tournament ended a successful 2004-2005 campaign for the Cards, who finished 10-5 in dual matches and held an overall record of 77-73 in individual matches. Though many expected the Red and Black to fare better in the final event of the season, Wesleyan has plenty of talent to build on in the future.
