Today, I got my e-mail disabled yet again for having more than 25 MB of messages on my account. This got me thinking. 25 MB! Wow that’s like so many floppies!
So check it out: (25 MB x 3,000 students) / 1,024 (the number of MB in a GB) = 73 GB. Wesleyan has a whopping 80 gig hard drive for all the undergrads.
That’s so terrific: that’s like two 40 gig iPods and we all know iPods are fabulous.
Well ITS, I did some research for you. It turns out you can spend $30 (if you send in the rebates) and buy an 80 gig hard drive from bestbuy.com, effectively doubling your email storage capacity. That’s exactly one penny per undergrad at Wesleyan.
I think that might be a good investment to make. Let me know if you need any help installing the hard drive.
