Saturday will be the last chance of the season to see the Cardinal football team in action. The men host the undefeated Bantams of Trinity (7-0) on Andrus Field at noon. With a victory the Bantams can claim sole possession of the top spot in the NESCAC final standings. Wesleyan was trounced 51-0 by Trinity last year, so knocking off the top team is no easy task. Trinity has won 21 games in a row, most of any NCAA football program, and can clinch its third straight NESCAC title with a victory on Saturday. The Bantams are ranked first among Division III schools in New England, and are 21st according to one national poll. Wesleyan (3-4) has won in dramatic fashion this season, but is coming off of a 30-12 loss at Little Three rival Williams last Saturday. The Cardinals need a victory to avoid the team’s first losing season since 1996.
