Field hockey vs. Trinity

Field hockey got its first win of the season on Thursday afternoon, defeating Babson 2-1 in overtime at home. The win gives the team a confidence boost as the players prepare to host in-state conference rival Trinity on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The team’s record stands at 1-1 (0-1 NESCAC) following Thursday’s win and an overtime loss to Williams last weekend.

The Bantams’ season got off to a fast start with a 5-3 win over conference foe Amherst last weekend. That game was on Trininty’s turf field, and the team will have to adjust to the beautiful grass behind Freeman Athletic Center.

Jenn Wasserman ’05 scored both of the goals in Thursday’s win, and Caitlin Kelly ’07 came up with nine saves as Babson out-shot the Cardinals 15 to 11. Hopefully the momentum will carry over to the weekend and the field hockey team will pick up its first NESCAC victory.
