La Unidad Latina helps feed families

This past weekend, among the many activities occurring on Saturday night, the brothers of LUL were raising funds for the Feed Brazil Program. The event was Club Fusion and was co-sponsored by the Black Women’s Collective at Eclectic. All funds were for the Feed Brazil Program, which is a food distribution program LUL established and maintains in Brazil. Our goal is to provide each family with a basket of food every month of the year that contains basic necessities such as rice, powder milk, pasta, etc.

We would like to thank the Wesleyan Community, the WSA, the Office of Student Leadership Development, Leilani Kupo, the Eclectic Society, and the Black Women’s Collective for their help funding the event. The funds raised at Club Fusion and from Local Businesses amounted to $650, along with $960 LUL brothers at Dartmouth raised, a total of $1,610 will be sent to the program coordinator in Brazil during the next year. The brothers of LUL will be hosting another fund raising initiative for the Feed Brazil Program this summer coordinated with the help of INROADS.
