Sports Short: Two Cardinals score in Boston

Pat Moffett ’04 and Jenna Flateman ’04 scored the only points for Wesleyan at this weekend’s New England Open in Boston, Mass.

Moffett’s fourth place finish in the 55-meter hurdles gave the Cardinal men a 21st place finish out of the thirty scoring teams. Moffett’s time of :07.68 was the top finish by a Division III competitor, as the meet featured the top indoor track athletes from all three NCAA divisions. It was also the second straight stellar performance for Moffett, who finished the same event in a team record :07.60 a week earlier.

Flateman’s second place finish in the 55-meter dash propelled the Cardinal ladies to a 20th place finish out of the thirty-one scoring teams at the meet. Her time of :07.28 was just .08 seconds behind the pace of her performance one week earlier.

Complete results from the meet have not yet been released. Both Moffett and Flateman now prepare for the next indoor track event, the ECAC Division III meet this weekend at Bowdoin.
