Women’s basketball extended their winning streak to four games in defeating Fitchburg State by a score of 59-49 on Tuesday night. Led by Amy Posocco ’04 and Hannah Stubbs ’06, contributing fourteen points each, the Cardinals put together a solid performance on the home court. The women had a healthy eight-point lead at the half, and played the visitors close to even in the second. The team was able to take advantage of their opponent at the foul line, and had a better three-point shooting percentage with Posocco pacing the Cards with three triples. The rest of the statistics were close to even for the two teams. The Cardinals improved their season record to 17-3, and travel to Trinity and Amherst to end their regular season this weekend. The team is currently in a four-way tie for second place in the NESCAC at 5-2, and has a chance to claim a high playoff seed with two wins on the road.
