To the Editors:
The director of Summerfields, David Pazmino, brought to my attention that there was a student (I believe) quoted in the Argus (Jan. 27, 2004), claiming that the vegan Burgers at Summerfields are not [vegan]. I have the ingredient list in front of me, and can assure you that they are, as well as the Foccacia roll they are served on. The importance of vegan options being truly vegan is taken very seriously by all of our staff. The grills have special spots designated for vegan products as well as special spatulas used to prepare the items. We do not ever knowingly compromise the integrity of vegetarian or vegan items, and if or when this happens it is corrected as soon as possible. Please feel free to contact either myself or Mr. Pazmino (x3475) to verify the nutritional content if you feel it is necessary.
