NESCAC volleyball raises money for breast cancer

The NESCAC conference volleyball teams rallied together and organized a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research. The foundation was started by two sisters, Susan Goodman Komen and Nancy Goodman Brinker, after the former was diagnosed and then later died from the disease. The NESCAC fundraiser is called the “Kill the Killer” campaign.

Teams asked that individuals make a pledge for the number of “kills” a team made during the month of October (Breast Cancer Awareness month). Wesleyan had 691 kills as a team during October. The Wesleyan Volleyball team has received donations and/or pledges totaling over $1,400 dollars to date. The conference teams have collected pledges and donations totaling over $15,000.

If interested, donations may still be made until December 1. Make checks payable to the Susan G Komen Foundation and send checks to Gale Lackey at the Freeman Athletic Center.
