Friday was not an isolated incident

I just read the news about what happened Thursday night. The Wesleyan community should not dismiss this as an isolated incident, and should address the history of prior police brutality cases. This situation resonates very clearly to what happened to me last year, and nothing was done about the situation. Students should organize, strategize and execute a concrete plan to ensure that this does not happen again in the future. It is not a coincidence that such brutal force was used the last day the majority of students were on campus. While the police department executed the violence, the University should also be held accountable for the extreme actions that were administered against the students.
