With the future of Wesleyan radio still up in the air, President Doug Bennet reacted warmly to the proposal submitted by the WESU Board of Directors, according to general manager Jesse Sommer ’05. The proposal, designed primarily by Luke Snelling ’05 with help from Sommer, included 25 pages of alternative suggestions for revamping the station and 15 pages of alumni and community member testimonials on the value of WESU.
According to Sommer, the Board of Directors brought their proposal before the WSA on Sunday. The WSA has formally endorsed the Board’s plan, and is against bringing NPR to WESU (see page 3).
President Bennet e-mailed Sommer and Snelling saying that, although he had not yet read through the proposal entirely, he thought that it looked promising and hoped that they could work together, according to Sommer. President Bennet will meet with Sommer and Snelling this week to talk over the proposal.
