Hello Wesleyan,
So, we are Gag Reflex, an improv group on campus. Maybe some of you have seen us perform; maybe some of you have not. Well, we have a show this Friday, Feb. 23 and we would like to announce that we will be doing something a little different. Since a lot of people actually do come to our shows, we decided that we should take advantage of such a large gathering for the common good. So this Friday, we will be having a charity jar by the door when you all walk in to our show. It clearly will not be mandatory to give (because our shows are always free), but if you want to donate, we have a great cause that we are trying to raise money for.
Jessalee Landfried, one of the senior and most attractive members of Gag Reflex, is participating in the 13th Annual Habitat Bicycle Challenge, which is a cross-country bike trip fundraiser for the Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven. Three groups of 30 riders each will leave from New Haven on June 2, and spend two months biking to Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco. Last year’s trip raised more than $430,000, enough to build eight homes in the New Haven area and making us the largest student fundraiser for any Habitat affiliate in the nation. Most riders must raise $4,000 to participate, but because Jessalee is one of 12 student leaders who are also charged with planning the entire trip, she only has to raise $2,000. So, we want to help her raise money, and thus help Habitat raise money.
So if you are planning on coming to our show, bring a couple of dollars and know you will be giving to a great cause, and also enjoying some great free improv comedy.
Sincerely,
Gag Reflex
