A few of you may have been lucky enough to see a new Weshop item in the past week: Liberté Six Grains stirred yogurt. This yogurt has, indeed, six grains stirred into it, as well as pieces of fruit, as per your standard ‘fruit-on-the-bottom’ type yogurt. The only flavor I could find was Pear, which I feel pretty neutral towards in general.
The grains added a new texture to the yogurt, much like the tapioca bubbles in bubble tea. I find this to be a nice addition, adding some contrast to the standard yogurt fare. As for flavor, the grains had almost no effect (that I could tell), so the yogurt is surprisingly standard. In a good way.
Some info on the yogurt: product of Canada, 1.5% milk fat, sweetened with fruit juice, made with Vermont milk. The six grains are: buckwheat, rice, barley, wheat, rye, and oats.
So the addition of grains is a pretty cool addition to the yogurt, providing additional texture but not flavor.
