The school record-holder in the indoor triple jump after a leap of 47’ 1 ¾” during the Cardinal Invitational I last Jan. 24, Lark will look to help the Cardinal indoor track team soar to new heights this winter. Lark was dominant in both the long jump and triple jump in 2008-09, recording a combined six first-place finishes in the two events (in nine meets).
Lark broke the school triple-jump record during the Wesleyan Invitational II in January, taking first with a leap of 46’ 11 ¼”. He also recorded first in the long jump (22’ 4 ½”) in the meet. Lark proceeded to break the triple-jump record the following week—though his record jump was only good for a second-place finish—and scored another top finish in the long jump with a leap of 22’ 5 ¾”. Lark again placed first in both events (long jump, 22’ 4 ½”; triple jump, 46’ 3 ¼”) in the Cardinal Invitational II, Wesleyan’s final home meet of the indoor season, and helped lead Wesleyan to a 15th-place finish (out of 24 scoring teams) in the New England Division III Meet Feb. 20-21 with a third-place finish in the long jump and a fifth-place showing in the triple jump. Lark was also the only Cardinal to score in the New England Open Meet as he placed eighth in both events before ending the indoor season with a second-place showing in the triple jump in the ECAC Division III Meet.
Lark will look to shatter his own record once more this indoor season, which begins with the Wesleyan Invitational I on Dec. 5.
