Sparks Will Fly!

It is estimated that Wesleyan students will consume over one million pounds of delicious thyme this Wednesday on Foss Hill. But before you burn yourself out, check out this gourmet recipe that is guaranteed to keep you buzzin’ for hours. The Firecracker is the cheapest and quickest way to a memorable (or not so memorable) Wednesday afternoon. Try it out—but be prepared for a high-flying taste explosion in your mouth!

Necessities:

2 crackers

Nutella or high fat-content (organic) peanut butter

½ Gram of finely ground thyme

Aluminum Foil

Oven

Microwave

Directions:

1. Pre-heat oven to 320 degrees. (FACT: Thyme vaporizes at 365 degrees so you want to be under that temperature)

2. Spread fatty peanut butter on the face of crackers.

3. Sprinkle finely ground thyme evenly on the peanut butter and sandwich the two crackers together gently.

4.  Microwave for 15 seconds.

5.  Wrap the firecracker in aluminum foil. Place on baking sheet and bake in oven for 22 minuets.  Be cautious! The content may burn if left in too long.

6.  Let them cool.
