Public Safety will be registering bicycles and helping students engrave their bikes on Wednesday, September 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside of the Campus Center. The service is provided free of charge. They will also be selling bike locks for $20.
In a campus-wide email sent Thursday, the Office of Public Safety notified students of abnormally large number of thefts that have been reported to them over the last two weeks.
The email reported that computers, money, and other items were stolen in several residence halls. Thieves had also broken into several vehicles on Pearl Street and Washington Street and stolen CD players and CD’s. The email said that many of the thefts occurred when keys were left in the door or parties were taking place and urged students to take several precautions, including making sure to lock all doors and windows and not leaving valuables in cars.
