Dear Editor of the Argus,
Who writes the editorials? Wait. I don’t really care who writes them. All I want is to stop reading editorials that tell activists what they should be doing. This is known as arm-chair activism, and it is really annoying.
Instead of telling other people what to do, why don’t you do stuff? Why haven’t I seen an event called, “The Argus Presents… Do Stuff To Make Sure That People Vote Their Fuckin’ Heads Off!” or “The Argus Presents… All The Argus Staff Goes And Gets Trained So That They Can Do Stuff For the Red Cross If There’s Like, a Chemical Attack On, or Natural Disaster in, Middlesex County, Connecticut” or something like that?
Now, maybe you (whoever you are) have done stuff to those ends. But I can’t tell, because you don’t say. All I can see is that you’re telling me and people like me, who have worked their asses off (to the ends of changing nothing, being on disciplinary probation, getting shitty grades, being arrested, jaded, bitter, beat up by cops, burnt-out, pissed-off and other lovely things) for the past few years, what to do. And damn—that’s annoying.
So, in conclusion, stop. Because it’s annoying.
