A Utah man found that the gas tank of his newly acquired SUV was half-full of marijuana. When the man took his SUV to a mechanic, to check the seemingly broken gauge, the mechanic discovered roughly $35,000 worth of marijuana. The vehicle had several previous owners, and was once a rental. Police said that the current owner was not a suspect.
Police in Five Palm Bay, Florida recently made an arrest after following a trail of candy wrappers to the home of one of the perpetrators. Five juveniles entered a resident’s house, damaging several doors, stealing electronics and firearms, and leaving a trail of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup wrappers from the victim’s backyard to their own house. Three of the suspects face armed burglary charges, and the other two face lesser charges.
Researchers at Newcastle University, England, found that naming dairy cows can increase milk yields by around 60 gallons per year. The study used a survey of 516 farmers in United Kingdom, almost half of which reported that cows they had named gave more milk.
A would-be car thief in Salt Lake City, Utah, was apprehended with the aid of a headlock and a wedgie. Yvonne Morris, a technician at Brickyard Animal Hospital witnessed the man breaking into a car and chased him down, but was unable to keep him in a headlock until she also grabbed hold of his boxer shorts. The man was booked on suspicion of vehicle burglary, possession of stolen property and outstanding warrants.
The Telegraph, a London, England Paper, recently published a shortlist of the worst book titles published in England in 2008. The winners were: “Baboon Metaphysics”, “Curbside Consultation of the Colon”, “The Large Sieve and Its Applications“, “Strip and Knit with Style”, “Techniques for Corrosion Monitoring”, and, finally, “The 2009-2014 World Outlook for 60-milligram containers of Fromage Frais”.
This Saturday, a 140-year-old lobster currently living at a Japanese restaurant in Brooklyn, New York will be released into the Maine Ocean. The 20-pound lobster, named Craig, will owe his freedom to a PETA campaign to liberate lobsters held for boiling.
