On Monday, Feb. 7, a drug deal on Vine St. led to an extended police car-chase and several injuries.
According to The Middletown Press, police first saw Lee Jacobs, a 26-year-old non-University person, making a drug sale in his car on Vine St. at about 8pm. A detective approached Jacobs’ window and ordered him out of the car, at which point Jacobs grabbed the detective, started the car, and began to drive away. The detective broke free, and was treated at Middlesex Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
“Police chased Jacobs through Middletown, Middlefield and Durham during a lengthy chase, before he finally crashed on Route 17 near the Durham Fair Grounds,” according to The Middletown Press.
Public Safety was not involved in the incident.
