Presidential search update

The Presidential Search Committee recently released its Position Specification, which summarizes the position of Presidency and details those ideal experiences and critical competencies for which the committee is searching in candidates. Responsibilities for the new president will include developing the University as a pacesetter in nurturing well-educated leaders, maintaining an open and diverse community on campus, furthering good relations with Middletown, and improving giving levels and endowment. Candidates should have strategic skills that emphasize collaborative decision-making, experiences in relationship-building and fundraising, and strong academic credentials including a terminal degree. Competencies that promise success are, most generally, engagement, resource and profile building, and organizational leadership. The committee emphasizes that candidates should have a commitment to higher education and the liberal arts model.
