I’m going to get straight to the point. I am more than frustrated at the lack of tact and lack of respect shown to me by the men’s rugby team. I have not once intentionally printed a misinformed fact and I have often spent extra hours writing articles just to check facts. And I already apologized to the entire Rugby team. Was it really necessary to take out your frustrations at me to the entire campus? I do not think that you really realize the amount of time and effort that goes into the Argus. People are here Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and when we’re not here, we’re thinking about the Argus. It’s sad, but true.
Maybe if you have so much time to practice and make hoodies, you should make a website or some other venue for information about yourselves so that when you approach media such as the Argus we can better cover you. Or maybe you could just return an e-mail?
But my frustrations extend far beyond just your editorial. Do you even know how many phone calls and e-mails I have to make a week just for your benefit? The Argus is the only reason why I still have a campus phone. I have called entire teams in one night only to get one response. I know that you are all busy with practice and games, but the Argus is not my life.
I do not get paid to do this. I do this because I love sports and I have made great strides to make sure that every team that has contacted me in any fashion has been covered to some capacity.
But I am still underappreciated.
I love what I do here, but to tell you all the truth, I am tired. I am tired of the calls, the e-mails, the bitching and complaining for a thankless job for which I do not even get paid. Sometimes my love for this is just not enough.
