Dear Wesleyan Community,
In Friday’s issue of the Argus, there was an article about the Wesleyan Republicans that mentioned their president: Eugene Wong ’09. I would just like to take a moment to say that Eugene Wong does not speak for the rest of the Wong’s on campus. While Eugene Wong is a Republican, he is not representative of the students here who share a last name with him, but nothing else. I would guess that the rest of the Wong’s on campus, like myself, are nice, Bush-hating, liberals. To the Argus, I make this request: in the future, when discussing Eugene Wong and the Wesleyan Republicans, could you please use his first name as well as his last name each time you mention him? For example, instead of “Wong loves the Republican Party,” why not “EUGENE Wong loves the Republican Party”? That way we can avoid confusion. Thank you.
