Compost your food!

As many people know, you can compost your leftover food after dining in Summerfields. Here’s a reminder of what to compost:

-Fruit/vegetables scraps

-Plain bread, pasta or rice

-Egg shells

-Tea bags/coffee grounds

Please make sure you DO NOT put the following in the Summerfields compost, or any compost on campus:

-Meat

-Garbage, like the plastic ketchup containers, plastic-ware and paper cups

Want to start composting in your residence? Here are some simple steps:

1)Ask Dave at the Grill in MoCon for a bucket. If you don’t go to MoCon, e-mail compost@wesleyan.edu and we will get you one.

2) Put a sign near your bucket to let fellow residents know what can and cannot be composted. If you need a pre-made sign, email compost@wesleyan.edu.

3) Each dorm has a designated pick-up place and day. To find out the pick-up place nearest you, email compost@wesleyan.edu.

Thanks for keeping the worms happy,
EON’s Compost Committee
