Stop Driving to Class

To the editor:

I am writing in response to your article about the contest to generate ideas for a greener campus (“Contest Offers $5,000 for Green Campus Ideas,” Feb. 10, 2009, Volume CXLV, Number 4).  Here’s a simple, cost-free idea that I have never seen mentioned or even hinted at in the Argus, in all the indignant articles and Wespeaks about how the administration isn’t doing enough to help the environment:

Students who are physically able to walk or ride a bicycle to class should stop driving their cars to class.
