The Prisoner Solidarity Project appreciates the coverage of our group and the symposium we organized about College in Prison at Wesleyan. While we commend the Argus’ interest in and support of our proposal, we would like to make some clarifications.
The Prisoner Solidarity Project (PSP) is a campus group that has been running student-led, not-for-credit workshops in York and Cheshire prisons in Connecticut. We organized the January 26 symposium to disseminate information about our proposal for the Wesleyan Center for Prison Education. Please read our proposal, which appears in this issue of the Argus (See proposal XXXXX)
For the Center to succeed it will require the ongoing support and engagement of the Wesleyan community. We would like to open a public dialogue regarding our proposal for a Wesleyan Center for Prison Education. This Thursday, February 5 at 12 p.m., in the Multi-Purpose Room in the basement of Usdan, members of our group will hold a public forum. If you have any questions or comments please email: WesleyanPrisonEducation@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
The students of the Prisoner Solidarity Project
