On Friday April 15, a group of about six zombies violently attacked unsuspecting prefrosh and their hosts at the WesFest barbeque on Foss Hill. Prospective students and innocent bystanders were helpless as they were mauled by the screaming, growling undead.
The “attack”, carried out by six or seven students, was organized by the Zombie Art Collective, a student group devoted to using public space for artistic expression.
Sarah Sculnick ’14 said she was enjoying the beautiful day on Foss when people covered in blood started to appear.
“At first I wondered if they were weird prefrosh, but then I realized they were zombies,” Sculnick said.
The Zombie Art Collective was indiscriminant in their assault, attacking both current students and prospective students. According to zombie Angela Allan ’11, each human body part has a distinct flavor.
“My favorite part [to eat] is the cerebellum with ketchup,” Allan said.
After devouring and harassing the hill-goers, the zombies seemed content with their spoils.
“I think we’ve successfully turned 500 prefrosh into zombies,” Allan said.
While many prefrosh were frightened, some thought the incident to be simply strange. Prospective student Gabriel Frankel found the event to be entertaining.
“I mean it’s bright daylight so it doesn’t really make sense, but maybe I’m just uneducated about zombies,” Frankel said.
While some students were traumatized, most continued to finish their meals and enjoy the sunny day. An interview with zombie Nemo Allen ’12 ended prematurely due to an unexpected attack on this Argus reporter.
