This Thursday, DC artist Wale (pronounced wall-ay) performed at Senior Cocktails. His current single “Nike Boots” shows how this up-and-coming artist proudly represents DC style. Jonna Humphries ’09 was able to sit him down for an interview. Here’s our favorite quote:
Jonna: Being a DC native, you also know about DC’s clothing style. Nike boots, northfaces, etc. Could you put together from head to toe what a man dressed in DC style would be wearing?
Wale: Some new balances with some GAP or Levi 501 denims, you know this is the average guy. You know, in the summer a polo shirt and a Nationals hat. Somebody with a little bit more money, some New Balance 991, Rock & Republics, a polo on.
