Consoling words for those who have not yet finished their theses:
Ok, so you’re still working on it. Sure. That’s cool. Oh, it’s not cool? You’re freaking out? Right.
Don’t panic. Sit back and take a deep breath.
Now think it through.
So what if you don’t finish it? No big deal. You can always come back next year and do it then. That way you also get to enjoy another year of “the best years of your life.” Who doesn’t love college?
Besides, even if you were to finish it, how good is it really going to be? Are you even sure it’ll get a passing grade? I mean, what’s the point in worrying about it if it isn’t very good to begin with, right?
Plus, if you get it done, there’s still a good chance that the printing process could screw up, or something like that. You know how strict the registrar’s office is about that. And all that work and stress would be for nothing.
Hey, and on the other hand, what good is this thesis going to do you, anyway? I mean, getting into grad school is pretty tough, and it’s not like there’s all that much practical application for your major in today’s super tight job market. You know, and if you actually do manage to find something useful to do with yourself after graduation, aren’t you going to regret all the opportunities to spend quality time with your friends that you missed? In the end, aren’t friends what’s really important in life?
There, now that it’s all in perspective, don’t you feel better? Not really? Huh. Well… I’m going to go play outside.
