Think racism isn’t on campus? Think again. WeSCReWuP, White Students Confronting Racism and White Privilege, is holding a three-part discussion series to spark dialogue particularly among white students about embedded racism in daily life. We believe that racism is systematic, complex, and requires white people to be complicit in its perpetuation. Racism must stop and doing so requires white people to begin examining the often subtle ways in which they contribute to its continuation. We are interested in promoting peer-learning about issues of race, racism, and race privilege so that we may better recognize and confront the ways systematic racism works in our daily lives. We invite you to join us to discuss “U.S. Racism and White Supremacy as a Social Structure,” “Struggling Against Internal Racism and Working Through White Guilt Productively,” and “Strategies for Challenging White Supremacy and Racism from the Inside.” Please come to the first discussion on Wednesday, February 18 in the Butt A lounge, 4:15 p.m. Have questions?
