The women’s squash team snapped an eight-match losing streak against Tufts in a big way on Friday, rolling to a 7-2 victory over the Jumbos. Wesleyan swept every match at the 4-9 spots en route to the victory. The Cardinals did not fare as well on Saturday, however, falling to both Amherst and Williams by 9-0 counts.

Against Tufts, Danielle Craig ’13, Gwynne Hunter ’10, Jenny Chu ’11, Caroline Fox ’12, Ashley Garrett ’12, and Meherazade Sumariwalla ’12 all swept their matches, and Casey Simchik ’10 took a 3-2 victory at the No. 1 spot. The win was Wesleyan’s first against the Jumbos since Jan. 19, 2003.

Simchik, Tanesha Jackson ’13, and Chu lost their matches against Amherst by 3-1 scores, with the Lord Jeffs sweeping the other six. Jackson was the only Cardinal to win a game against Williams as the Ephs swept eight of the nine matches.

Next up for Wesleyan is the NESCAC tournament, in which the Cardinals will open play on Friday. Seeding for the event has not yet been announced.
