The men’s and women’s track teams headed to Northeastern on Friday to take part in the Boston Indoor Games, which featured several Division I programs. While the Cardinal women did not score, the Wesleyan men finished with five points to place 16th of the 18 scoring teams, tied with Yale and three points ahead of UMass Dartmouth.

Charles Lang ’11 had the best finish on the day for Wesleyan, taking fifth in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:02.87. Lang beat out runners from Williams and a pair of D-I schools (the Universities of Maine and New Hampshire) to place fifth in the event. In addition, the Cardinals’ 4×400 relay team of Andre Lima ’13, Chris Coleman ’10, Derek Groskreutz ’13, and Michael Onah ’13 clocked in at 3:34.37 to give the Cardinals an additional eighth-place point.

On the women’s side, Wesleyan’s best finishes came in the distance events. Lia Monti ’13 placed 15th in the 400-meter run (1:01.80), and Ravenna Neville ’10 took 19th in the mile run (5:21.04).

Wesleyan returns to action on Saturday in the Tufts Invitational.
