Over the weekend, the men’s and women’s cross country “B” teams raced in the ECAC Division III Championships, which were held on Saturday at Mt. Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, Mass. Both teams placed 11th in their respective races, with the Wesleyan men placing 11th of 43 teams with a score of 349 and the Cardinal women placing 11th of 39 entrants with a score of 391.

Co-captain Chris Coleman ’10 had the top time for the Wesleyan men, covering the eight-kilometer course in 27:47.7 for a 31st-place finish out of 296 finishers. Sam Roth ’13 was right behind him, clocking in at 27:53.0 for 34th. Seth Hafferkamp ‘12 covered the course in 28:38.6 for 79th place, and Nelson Norsworthy ’10 placed 87th (28:50.4). Mac Schneider ’12 was the fifth scorer for Wesleyan, placing 125th with a time of 29:39.3. Julian Applebaum ’13 (137th, 29:50.2) and Brendan Sheehan ’11 (198th, 31:01.5) rounded out the Cardinals’ showing.

Hannah Zimmerman ’13 (38th out of 275 finishers) and Nellie Triedman (39th) led the Cardinal women on the six-kilometer course with times of 25:30.1 and 25:31.0, respectively. Ceili Brennan ’13 was next, finishing 80th with a time of 26:21.8. Dessie Stefanova ’12 placed 112th, clocking in at 27:01.8, and Nicole Lepre ’13 took 128th with a time of 27:17.9. Amanda Jacob ’10 rounded out Wesleyan’s action, placing 153rd with a time of 27:46.5.

Both teams return to action this weekend in the New England Division III Championships at the University of Southern Maine.
