NESCAC Executive Director Andrea Savage has been appointed to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Board of Directors, the ECAC announced Tuesday. Savage, who became the NESCAC’s first full-time director in August 1999, will serve a four-year term that runs through fall 2013.
Savage, who has served on numerous regional and national committees, including the Division III Interpretations and Legislation Committee and Division III Commissioners Association Executive Committee, joined the NESCAC after eight years as a senior athletics administrator at Yale. She is a 1986 Amherst graduate who was a three-sport athlete in field hockey, squash, and lacrosse. Savage received a M.S. in Sport Management from UMass in 1991.
In addition to Savage, Joseph Clinton of Dominican College (Division II) and Mark Griffin of Rutgers-Newark were also appointed to the ECAC Board of Directors. Clinton is entering his 19th year as the athletic director and head coach of men’s basketball at Dominican, and Griffin was named the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation at Rutgers-Newark in August 2004.
