The golf team finished seventh of 13 teams in the two-day Johnson & Wales Invitational held at the par-71 Cranston Country Club in Cranston, R.I. over the weekend. Wesleyan’s team count was 672; NYU finished first in the event with a 606 count.

Pete Taylor ’12 led the way for Wesleyan with a 75-79-154 total, tying him for fifth individually; Taylor has shot 83 or below in every round so far this season. Captain Eli Wilson ’09 was next with a 79-87-166 total, which tied him for 26th. John Torrenti ’09 tied for 46th with a 92-83-175 count, and Dan DeRienzo ’11 shot an 87-90-177 for 51st. A.J. Ferraro ’12 took 67th with a 97-107-204 total.

Wesleyan returned to Rhode Island for its next action, as the Cardinals took on Rhode Island College earlier Friday.
