Casey Simchik ’10 and Liz Demakos ’09 competed in the College Squash Association (CSA) National Individual Championships over the weekend in the women’s squash team’s final action of the season. Both Simchik and Demakos competed in the Holleran division. The tournament was hosted by Williams College.

Simchik, who held down the top spot in 25 of the Cardinals’ 27 matches this winter, went 1-2 in the tournament. Simchik defeated Jennifer Hearn of St. Lawrence University 3-0 to open the tournament but fell to Williams senior Arianna Kourides 3-0 (10-8, 9-1, 9-1) in the round of 32. Simchik then dropped a 3-1 decision to Mount Holyoke junior Laura Robinson to conclude her action at the tournament.

Demakos fell in both of her matches at the Championships. Columbia’s Liza Chu defeated Demakos 3-0 in the opening round, and Northeastern freshman Sara Barrett did the same in the consolation bracket.
