Joy Wu

Joy is a proud member of Wesleyan’s Class of 2028, double majoring in Film & English and minoring in East Asian Studies. Joy (whose given name is Jiayi) grew up in Beijing, where she spent 18 years of her life strolling and riding around. Joy is a big fan of cinema and theater. She also loves animals. At the age of five, Joy made the decision to rename herself “Penguine” to account for her enthusiasm for this species. She changed her name back at the age of six and four months.
