I am really unhappy with the status of point policies here on campus.
It’s bad enough that as a freshman I do not have an option when it comes to my meal plan just yet. Students who receive financial aid are apparently eligible to receive 100 extra points, that is, if they consume an average of 10 meals per week. What a lucky break, I thought, before I realized that I didn’t meet that meal consumption number.
Now, it’s nice of the policy makers to make note of the fact that students possibly without the same amount of spending cash, perhaps, would benefit from some more points to subsist nutritionally when those measly 150 run out for many.
So how about you get rid of that meal requirement, because honestly, it’s just unrealistic, I’m still hungry, even if I don’t show it, by going to Mocon 10 times a week.
Also, I have already paid for 12 meals worth of food. Considering the fact that I only actually consume about half that amount, and the University thus has done very well in the deal, I think that giving me an extra 100 points is the least you could do.
