Hello Wesleyan!!!
The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming, and the sun is shining but I can’t shake this funny feeling that there’s still something missing from these spring time festivities…oh yea!…BUTTSTOCK. This Saturday (April 24) from noon to 5 p.m. in the Butterfield courtyard will be what can only be described as the greatest event to hit Wesleyan since sliced pita. There will be free food, (vegan, vegetarian, and meat lovers welcome), drinks, ice cream, cotton candy, an art show, t-shirts, a dunk tank, an inflatable bouncy thing, Prof. Berry Chernoff’s rock band, and all for a worthwhile cause. What’s that you say? It’s impossible to be having fun while simultaneously raising social awareness? Well defying the impossible is what Wesleyan is all about and BUTTSTOCK is prepared to stick it to the man one more time. We’ll be fundraising for Greenstreet Art Center, a great organization for little tykes in Middletown who want to expand their creative talents. EON will also be there with free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and all they want in return is a signed postcard asking for green energy at Wesleyan (postcards provided). And if that’s still not enough to get you to come out we’ve got the hottest bands this side of the Connecticut River! That’s right, your ears will be ringing and your feet will be beating with tunes from Mighty Nat and Bluesaliscious (blues), Asa’s Sexual Fantasy (jazz/rock band), Chris White (folk singer songwriter), andy (ska), Candiru (E&ES Prof. Berry Chernoff’s Rock Band), and Don Minott and High Voltage (Roots Reggae as heard on WESU). So come on out to what is bound to be the party of the century!
**Remember Saturday (April 24), Butterfield courtyard, noon to 5 p.m.**
