Point: I love my thesis so much, I’ve already started writing another one!

Guys, writing my thesis for the past 8 months has been amazing. I mean, nothing could be more awesome than sitting in a room completely engrossed in one topic for such a lengthy period of time. If you don’t know what I mean, let me explain.

1. My thesis touched on issues of race, gender, sexuality, and class in our modern society.

2. Thanks to my thesey-poo, I was able to learn more about myself as a part of the global community.

3. Without my thesis, I would have never discovered my ability to express myself in the form of the written word.

4. In the process of writing, I formed a deep bond with my thesis advisor, which I believe will exist long after I graduate.

5. Extensive research and exploration/analysis of scholarly texts provided me with a mental challenge that my collegiate education had been lacking up until this point. I really feel like a void was filled.

6. Working in my thesis carrel on the top floor of Olin, I met so many other studious, like-minded students. I really must say that I found a new niche.

7. I discovered new facets of my personality, and with my project completed, I feel confident in my ability to share my new self with the Wesleyan community.

In fact, the thesis-writing process has been so amazing that I’ve begun writing another one, focusing on colonialism and its other consequences, as evidenced in the form of experimental Afro-Cuban jazz. Look for it in Fall ’05.
