A boy in India recently underwent surgery to remove a fish that had entered into his penis. The boy apparently took a break from cleaning his fish tank to urinate, at which the point the fish slipped from his had and entered his urethra. The boy was later admitted into counseling, in case of any lingering trauma from the incident.
Marijuana has begun to grow in the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Army base in Commerce City, CL. The Army claims that marijuana seeds were mixed in with mulch laid down as part of a vegetation cleanup project. Although not commercial-grade, the weed is still illegal.
A Thai artist recently began selling loaves of bread resembling severed body parts. The loaves, which can sell for as much as $500, are made from bread dough, raisings, cashews and chocolate. The maker of these artistic but morbid baked goods, Kittiwar Unarrom, holds a master’s degree in fine arts.
A call-center company proved that a pigeon could carry data faster than South Africa’s leading Internet service provider. Employees of Unlimited IT attached a data card to the leg of a pigeon, which then flew 50 miles to another company office. The data transfer was completed in two hours, seven minutes; the time it took a Telkom line to transfer just four percent of the data in the card.
A 58-year-old Australian bartender deployed an arsenal of plates to thwart an attempted robbery. Responding to a burglary alarm, the pub owner was confronted by four men armed with crowbars and sledgehammers. Retreating to the kitchen, he noticed a stack of plates, which he began to throw at the assailants. Struck by two of the improvised missiles, the attackers left the premises.
