Although Barack Obama winning this election is GREAT in respect to the advancements in American race relations, I feel that his campaign is designed to steer our country further away from the ideals upon which we were founded. We are headed towards socialism. Socialized healthcare, universal education and an ever-expanding role of the federal government characterize his stance.
Although he IS presenting tax cuts as a major issue in his platform, why do we need these taxes in the first place? What gives the government the right to take wealth from somebody and give it to somebody else? Did you guys know that the majority of U.S. citizens DON’T have to pay the federal income tax? Yes, that’s right, it’s a direct, unapportioned tax on your labor, and this makes it unconstitutional. The IRS claims that under the Sixteenth Amendment the income tax is constitutional, but the trick is that they define INCOME as the profits or gains of an enterprise, not as a compensation for labor. The IRS simply SUGGESTS that Americans file 1040s and pay an income tax, where there is no law in the WHOLE IRS CODE BOOK stating that it is NECESSARY for an individual to pay an income tax.
Why do you think we need all these taxes? Why is there a perceived direct, unapportioned tax on the labor of people in the first place? Well, judging from our current foreign policy, the Department of Defense NEEDS this money to keep fighting our wars abroad and for the upkeep of our 130 military bases around the globe. In essence, WE NEED TO SUPPORT OUR EMPIRE. America wasn’t founded upon this kind of foreign policy. America was founded on non-interventionism, on trading with countries, but NEVER getting involved in their internal or external affairs.
If you haven’t picked up on it by now, I’m a Ron Paul supporter. In my mind, Ron Paul represents more genuine and American CHANGE than Obama ever will. Obama wants to tinker with taxes, maintain our empire and continue this nation’s advancement towards a socialist-corporatist state. If you want socialism, go to Canada, go to Europe. Socialism is not what our Constitution is about; our Constitution is about guaranteeing that the federal and state governments can’t FUCK with your life. This is becoming further and further from reality, and I don’t like it.
This is not an attack on Obama, this is meant to present a series of questions to his supporters: Have you read the Constitution? Do you agree with its spirit? Are you looking for far-reaching amendments to create a welfare state? Half (an estimate) of what the federal government does now is unconstitutional, and the means by which it gets the majority of its funding is also unconstitutional.
Are you proposing that we amend the Constitution? If not, then I urge you to rethink your political positions. I urge you to consider the freedoms that our Constitution attempts to guarantee us, and the freedoms that are currently in danger due to the Patriot Act, Guantanamo Bay and other unconstitutional decisions APPROVED by Congress, which is supposed to represent YOUR interests.
I like to be secure, but I don’t like to be spied upon. If any of what I said has grabbed your attention, RonPaul2008.com has more in-depth information on reforming our foreign policy, economy and reclaiming our civil liberties (under the “Education” tab).
The future lies with the youth of America, and if we don’t WAKE UP and look at what America is supposed to stand for, then we’ll just continue to ask it to wipe our asses for the rest of our lives, while handing more and more of our paychecks to the powers-that-be. The government isn’t all-knowing, and can’t possibly account for the unintended consequences of its widely-sweeping actions. RONPAUL2008.COM
