Every election, hundreds of thousands of college students lose the right to vote when they procrastinate on registering or requesting their absentee ballots. It doesn’t have to be that way.

Democracy Matters is a non-partisan group of student activists dedicated to reforming our broken elections so they can become more democratic and inclusive. This coming Wednesday we’ll be operating a table in Usdan during lunch and dinner to provide assistance for registering to vote in Connecticut or requesting absentee ballots from out of state.

Don’t wait until the last minute! Every state has different rules and different deadlines, some as early as Oct. 5. That’s why we’ll be there to walk you through the processes, which can be discouragingly complicated. We’ll even turn in your Connecticut registration form for you. All you have to do is fill it out. (Don’t forget the last four digits of your social security number.)

If you’re interested in voter registration, voter rights, and election reform, come to Democracy Matters meetings on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. in Usdan 136, next to the mailboxes. All are welcome!
