Dear Mr. Bakun [in response to a Sept. 17 letter to the editor, “Republican Representation?” by Adam Bakun ’98],
Currently, the Wesleyan Republicans are not registered with the Wesleyan Student Assembly, indicating that there is no official active Republican contingency on campus at this time. Perhaps on such a polarized leftist campus, the group could not find enough support among the student body to reinstate itself for the 2004-2005 school year. Wesleyan’s Democrats are far more vocal and active, having an overwhelming presence.
