Katten recently began his 28th year as the Cardinals’ Sports Information Director (SID) and is anxiously anticipating the start of the winter sports season this Saturday. Katten, who was named to the D3Hoops.com 2006-07 NESCAC All-Crazy Team, stands at the ready with his famed paper stat sheets and Dell Inspiron as another season is waiting just around the corner.

Katten proved his worth as the NESCAC’s top SID over the weekend, as he handled the dreaded “double dip” of a home football game and NESCAC Championship weekend without breaking a sweat. Katten manages to consistently maintain an upbeat attitude matched by few on campus. Following a year working for Yale in an administrative capacity, Katten returned to Wesleyan in 1983, making him the conference’s longest-tenured SID.

Katten faces a tall order early this winter as the men’s basketball team hosts the Inn at Middletown Tip-Off Tournament Nov. 20-21, meaning twice as many press releases, twice as many opportunities to sing the national anthem, and twice as much time putting up with stupid jokes from his companions at the scorers’ table. But if anyone is up to the challenge, it’s the Wesleyan community’s favorite Ardmore, Pa. native. Cardinal athletes and coaches alike have come to expect nothing but the best from their able sports publicist, and look for Katten to deliver the goods once more this fall.

There is no D3hoops.com All-Crazy Team, I have to say. It’s the construction of the previous commenter, and is not created by or endorsed by D3hoops.com.

D3hoops.com would appreciate the removal of the reference.
