Fact vs. Opinion

I have supported Wesleyan since my 1960 graduation. I, too, was a regular contributor to the Argus as an opinion writer. As I see things Rebecca Brill and Tess Morgan do not seem to understand the difference between fact and opinion. When someone writes an opinion piece they interpret the facts, but they are not, by definition, required to be factual. I personally support Bryan Stascavage’s right to state his opinions in what is clearly presented as an Opinion Piece. If his critics do not agree, they have a right to draft their own Opinion Piece. A contest of opinions is the just place to take action. Defunding the Argus strikes me as antidemocratic and barbarian.
