The golf team traveled to Amherst on Wednesday for the annual Little Three meet, looking to claim its first win in Little Three play since 2006 (a 7-5 win over Amherst). The team was defeated by the Lord Jeffs 10.5-1.5 and also fell to Williams, which defeated Amherst for the Little Three title, 11-1.
The meet began with two-man alternating-shot match play. The pairing of Pete Taylor ’12 and A.J. Ferraro ’12 had Wesleyan’s only win in the opening rounds, as they edged their Amherst opponents. Taylor also accounted for Wesleyan’s only point against Williams, as he defeated his Eph rival in individual match play and also halved his Amherst adversary to account for the Cardinals’ other half point.
The team concludes the 2009-10 season 16-100 overall, including an 0-23 mark in the spring.
